Elaine R. Karchner

Elaine R. Karchner, 96, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Heritage Ridge Senior Living at Windy Hill, Philipsburg.

Mrs. Karchner was born May 27, 1928 in Woodland, the daughter of the late Neldon and Iva (Lumadue) Roberts.

She was a graduate of Clearfield High School and was a homemaker, who enjoyed raising her three children. She was a member of Hyde Wesleyan Church. Mrs. Karchner, along with her husband Jack, owned and operated the former Woodland IGA for many years. In her spare time, Mrs. Karchner loved to be outside working her flowers beds and watching and feeding the birds. She would often refer to the beauty of these things as 'God's Gift'.

Mrs. Karchner is survived by three children, Dennis Karchner and wife Leigh of Florida, Michael Karchner and wife Patricia of Woodland, and LouAnn Tylwalk of Woodland; seven grandchildren, Lindsay Michael, Hillary Wilson, Dillon Karchner, Ryan Karchner, Curtis Karchner, Zachary Tylwalk, and Zane Tylwalk; and 6 great grandchildren, Jack, Chloe, Clarissa, Maya, Logan, and Sheydra.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Karchner on July 28, 2012; and a brother, Ardell Roberts.

A memorial service will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home & Crematory, Clearfield on Wednsday, April 9, 2025 at 2 PM with Rev. Bob Croft officiating. Internment will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1-2 PM.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hyde Wesleyan Church, 1215 Riverview Road, Clearfield, PA 16830.
