Elizabeth I. “Betty” (Wiley) Burfield, 92, of Clearfield, passed away Saturday July 3, 2021 at Ridgeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville.
Born May 14, 1929 in Kerrmoor, she was the daughter of Steward E. Wiley and Julia A. (Smith) Wiley. She married Carl F. Burfield on November 15, 1947, and together they had nine children.
Betty worked for many years at various factories in the Clearfield and Curwensville area, and retired as a cook from Mountain Laurel Nursing Home. She enjoyed embroidery, reading, flowers, birdwatching, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Curwensville Christian Church.
Betty is survived by sons Steward (Sherry) of Olanta, James (Michael) of Tampa, FL, and David (Anita) of Lemont; daughters Linda Test (Kenneth) of Curwensville, Carol Conklin (Larry) of Clearfield, Sharon of Clearfield, Susan Warrick (Samuel) of Clearfield, and Elizabeth Queen (Dennis); sister Nancy Milliron of Curwensville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family; and dear friend Gail Caldwell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carl; infant daughter Esther; sister Donna Shuss; and two brothers-in-law, Fred Shuss and John Samuel Milliron.
Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield is in charge of arrangements. Per Betty’s wishes, there will be no public services. Interment will be at Bloomington Cemetery.
Those wishing to honor her memory may do so by either donating to the Curwensville Christian Church or sending flowers to someone who would enjoy them.
