Gregory A. Norris 76, passed away on October 5, 2026 at Mountain Laurel Healthcare and Rehabilitation with his family by his side.
He was born April 13, 1950, the son of the late Donald E. Norris (Elderton, PA), and Julia (Hileman) Norris (Williamsburg, PA).
Greg was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge Portage 220, Clearfield 314, Curwensville 480, and was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Valley of Altoona. He was a Past Master of Portage Lodge 220, in 1983. Greg was a 49 year member of the Masons. He was also a member of the Jaffa Shrine Altoona, the Clearfield County Shrine Club and the National Institute Certification in Engineering Technologies.
Greg graduated in 1968 from Williamsburg High School, and then went on to graduate from Williamsport Community College, as a Civil Engineer.
After college he worked for Green Construction of Des Moines, Iowa as a surveyor on the Raystown Dam, Huntington PA. He late worked for Gwin, Dobson, & Foreman Engineer; Civil Engineers IA Construction as a project engineer.
Greg retired from New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co. Inc. Contract division, Project Engineer in December 2013.
During his retirement, Greg worked as a Funeral Attendant at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory for 9 years.
He enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, hunting, biking rails to trails, and watching Josh golf.
Greg loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters Sidney and Madison and his grand Puppy Coco. He also loved going to their school activities.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Karen (Helsel) Norris whom he wed June 13, 1970.
one son, Joshua A Norris and wife Jackie of Clearfield; granddaughters, Sidney and Madison Norris; a sister, Cheryl Norris and partner Stephanie Bowman; a step sister, Justine Shandelmyer and husband Dan; a step brother, Gary Norris and wife Ivonnie; his step mother, Helen Norris (Elderton, PA); numerous cousins, one neice and two nephews; and a special aunt, Marjorie Reish.
In addition to his parents he is proceeded in death by his infant son, David Allen Norris.
A Celebration of life will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 4 PM with Rev. Dr. Mary Jo Bruinooge officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 PM.
Greg's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and caregivers on B Wing at Mountain Laurel Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center for the kindness and care they provided.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Johns Lutheran Church, 217 East Pine Street Clearfield, PA 16830.
