Harry James 'Jim' Brooks , 75
of Clearfield died on Friday, April 27, 2012 at his home.
He was born on December 9, 1936 in Clearfield, a son of the late Harry E. and Helen (Hurley) Brooks.
Mr. Brooks worked at Rhone's Motor Co. in the early 1960's, where he was a factory trained G.M. technician, specializing in paint and body automotive refinishing. From there, he founded, owned and operated Jim's Autobody Shop in Clearfield.
He loved being outdoors, enjoying both hunting and fishing. Jim was a master at everything he did from extraordinary automotive and paint skills to repairing, rebuilding and making intricate parts for handguns and rifles. Jim was very talented in so many ways, being able to play organ and piano by ear.
He was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Clearfield.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia L. (Rieder) Brooks whom he wed in January 1966 in Clearfield; two sons, James Scott Brooks and Mark Stephen Brooks and wife Bobbie Sue, all of Clearfield; and five grandchildren Kearstin Peacock and husband Randy, Kameron, Morgan, Dylan, and Kayla Brooks.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
The Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice .
