James 'Jim' Jay Baird

James 'Jim' Jay Baird, 90, passed away on September 10, 2026, at Ava Nursing and Rehab Center, Curwensville.

He was born June 13, 1936, the son of Earl and Elaine (Vovakes) Baird.

Jim retired from Dominion Natural Gas after working as a Gas Measurement Specialist for over 20 years.

He was a member of the DuBois Diplomats Barbershop Chorus and was a member of various barbershop quartets. He also sang in the St. Timothy Catholic Church Choir.

Jim loved sports and music. In his younger days he enjoyed jogging and playing volleyball. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Penn State Football. He also enjoyed traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Baird whom he wed November 13, 1976; three children, Stephen Baird, Vicky Dubrow and husband Phil, and Becky Smith and husband Keith; five grandchildren, Angela Coleman, Darrin Resinger, Lauren Bowers, Marissa Hurd, and Elle Dubrow; four great-grandchildren, Halli Resinger, Mason Resinger, Nolan Hurd, and Olivia Coleman; two brothers, Lon Baird and Randy Baird; two sisters, Marilyn Baird, Dawn 'Dolly' Lukehart; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Baird.

A funeral service will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 1 PM.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 AM - 1 PM.

Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
