James P. 'Jim' Malloy, 89, of Clearfield passed away on April 23, 2026, at the Knickerbocker Villa.
He was born September 23, 1936, the son of Patrick and Ruth (Duckett) Malloy.
Jim graduated from St. Francis School in 1955. He worked a manager of the produce department at Riverside then started his own store, Jim's Sports and Hobby Center on April 1, 1970 that later became the current Jim's Sports Center. He was also the former owner of Shoes of Champions in the DuBois Mall.
He was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Catholic Church where he served as an altar server, the Knights of Columbus 409, and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks 540, and a former president of the Jaycees.
Jim was an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, Donna (Swanson) Malloy whom he wed June 9, 1956 in Clearfield; three children, Patrick Malloy, Colleen (Forrest) Campman,and Terry (Sharon) Malloy; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Malloy; seven grandchildren, two children, Mark Malloy, Susan (David Baughman Jr.) Malloy, Curtis Campman, Jarrin (Vickey) Campman, Trey Campman, Lucas (Candice) Malloy, and Andrew Malloy; eight great-grandchildren; Lauren Mally, Cole Baughman, Palmer Campman, Dove Campman, Shephard Campman, Goldie Campman, Kase Malloy, and Willow Malloy; and a sister, Mary Ann Noble.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Daniel L. Malloy; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Malloy; a brother, John T. Malloy; and a sister, Patricia Hainsey.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 10 AM with Fr. Robert Horgas officiating.
Family and friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory on Friday, May 1, 2026 from 4-7 PM & again on Saturday from 9-9:30 AM.
Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Redevelopment Authority of Clearfield County "pocket-park", 212 East Locust Street, Suite 128 Clearfield, PA 16830; or 365 Hospice 115 S Main St, Carrolltown, PA 15722.
