Joan R. Morgan, 83
of Clearfield died on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at her residence.
She was born on June 16, 1928 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late James and Pearl (Spence) McDivitt.
Joan, a devoted sister, wife and mother, was a homemaker and enjoyed working outside in her flower garden. She was a volunteer at the Clearfield Hospital and was also employed at Sears Roebuck. For many years, she enjoyed getting together with friends for couples and ladies card clubs; most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends whom she loved and appreciated deeply. She was methodist by faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Denise A. Rowles and husband Jeffrey of Clearfield, a daughter-in-law, Vickie L. Morgan of Clearfield,
three grandchildren, Rebecca Ann Morgan of Brooklyn, NY, Matthew A. Morgan of Pittsburgh, Adam T. Rowles of Clearfield,
a sister, Nancy Hampton and husband Richard of Reading, a brother, John 'Butch' McDivitt and wife Carlie of Lawrenceville, a sister-in-law, Margie McDivitt of Harrisburg
and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Thomas Morgan on March 25, 1997; a son, Mark A. Morgan who preceded her in death on August 24, 1993; a brother Richard McDivitt and infant brother.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Richard Hampton officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Diabetes Association, 300 Penn Center Blvd., Suite 602, Pittsburgh PA 15235 or to the charity of one's choice.
