June Marie Juran, 91, formerly of Clearfield and Shellsville, died as a resident at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home in Carlisle, on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
Born September 11, 1934 in LeContes MIlls, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Pearl (Glace) Shomo.
June graduated from the Clearfield High School, class of 1953. After graduating, she was employed at the A&P store where she was a dedicated employee for 17 years.
On June 28, 1970, she married John V. Juran Jr. at the Pleasant Valley Mehodist Church. They were happily married for 41 years, until his passing in 2011.
June was involved in local politics within her township as an elected tax collector, a position she held for 23 years, being dedicated to the Lower Dauphin School District and the residents of East Hanover Township. She also was elected President of Dauphin County Tax Collectors Association, a position she held for 7 years.
June was a devout Christian and a member of the Church of Christ.
June is survived by two children, Cathy Mastromatteo of Clearfield, and John V. Juran III of Hampden Township; a grandson, Matthew Mastromatteo of Grantville; two sisters, Joyce Valenza and Betty Wing, both of Clearfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and grandparents, June is preceded in death by her husband, John Juran Jr.; a grandson, Marshall J. Mastromatteo; a son-in-law, Jon Mastromatteo; five brothers, Cloyd, Paul, Carl, Philip, and Lynn; and four sisters, Lola, Dorothy, Helen, and Linda.
A public graveside service will be held at the Mt. Joy Cemetery, Clearfield, on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 12 PM.
