Lois Gorman

Lois Nicoletta Gorman, 88, of Cary, NC, and formerly of Martha's Vineyard, Madison, NJ and Clearfield, died on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at the Wake Med Hospital in Cary, NC.

She was born on October 13, 1933 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Albert and Caroline (Cillo) Barone.

Mrs. Gorman had been employed as a registered nurse for various hospitals, as well as in the Madison, New Jersey public school system. In her free time, she enjoyed browsing garage sales, combing the beach, and opera. Mrs. Gorman would chat with anyone and everyone she met and also loved to cook. She was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church, Madison, NJ and, previously, St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.

She is survived by her husband, John Gorman whom she wed November 5, 1955; two sons, Christopher (Anne) Gorman of Cary, NC, and Gregory Gorman of Point Pleasant, NJ; a brother, Albert Barone and wife Lynda of Millersville; six grandchildren, Katherine Gorman of Durham, NC, Thomas and Ethan Gorman of Cary, NC, and Eva, Lilla and Sandor Gorman all of Point Pleasant, NJ.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 11 AM with Fr. Robert J. Horgas as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hillcrest Cemetery, 908 Richard Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
