Loretta Jean Sayers, 84, of Frenchville died on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
She was born on March 10, 1931 in Frenchville, a daughter of the late Joseph and Emma (Scherzer) Sayers.
Ms. Sayers retired as an LPN from Clearfield Hospital after nearly 30 years of service. She taught her family how to love the outdoors, hunting and fishing. She also enjoyed going camping and even hunted rattlesnakes.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Frenchville where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
Ms. Sayers is survived by two sons, Philip David Sayers and wife Bonnie of Burke, VA and Paul Sayers and wife Therese of Frenchville; four grandchildren, Shannon Long and husband Adam, Angela Stotka and husband Ryan, all of Fairfax, VA, Ryan Sayers of Clearfield and Aaron Sayers of Frenchville; four great grandchildren, Dylan, Tyler and Grayson Long and Parker Stotka, all of Fairfax, VA; two sisters, Mary Potter of Karthaus and Theresa Billotte of Frenchville; a brother, Claude Allen Sayers of Philipsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Eleanor Redenbach, Helen Muttersbaugh, Ursula Sayers and Mildred Sayers; and four brothers, Donald, James, Fred and John Sayers.
Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Mary Catholic Church, Frenchville on Wednesday at 11 AM with Rev. David A. Perry as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Frenchville.
Friends will be received at the church on Wednesday from 9 AM -11 AM.
