Mark L. Barr, 69, of Clearfield died on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at his home.
He was born on March 24, 1947 in Clearfield, a son of the late Rev. Stacey and Hortense (Frantz) Barr.
Mark graduated from Clearfield High School in 1965 and then graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor Degree in Business. Mr. Barr retired after nearly 30 years of employment at the Clearfield County Jail. He had also been a long time volunteer fireman with the Lawrence Township Volunteer Fire Company #1 and the Third Ward Hose Company and also faithfully attended the Hyde Wesleyan Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dorcas (McCleery) Barr whom he wed September 25, 1971; a son, Stacey Barr and wife Shannon Lobb Barr of Louisiana; and close relatives, Kim Norris and husband Marshall and Shelia Kaufmann and husband Ernie, all of Dubois.
A memorial service will be held at the Hyde Wesleyan Church at a time and date to be announced.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Third Ward Volunteer Fire Co., 508 Martin Street, Clearfield.
