Mary Ellen Taylor Liddle, 94 years of Clearfield died on May 25, 2026 surrounded by her daughters and son-in-law.
Born January 17, 1932 at the T. Lee Taylor homestead in Goshen, she was the daughter of T. Lee Taylor and Jessie R. (Shomo) Taylor. Mary was the first of the Taylor children born on the farm.
She began sewing at the age of nine and continued her passion throughout her life as a professional seamstress. As well as working from home and sewing for her children, including wedding dresses and formal wear, Mary worked at Target Sportsware, Leitzinger's, Brody's and the renown Clearfield Furs. In later years, Mary also was well known as a private upholstery agent.
Married to William Paul Liddle on April 14th, 1950 who died May 24, 2017. Mary was a devoted wife and loving mother.
She is survived by two daughters, Jody Grumblatt and husband Douglas and Paula Beem and husband John; six grandchildren, Gabriel Kelly, Erin Kelly and Jocelynn Kelly are the three oldest grandchildren, followed by Jessie Pfaff-Mann and Just Pfaff. Luke Beem is the youngest grandchild. Mary's great grandchildren are Ian, Mason, Gavin, Falon, Sarah, Connor, Lindon, Isabell, Elliot, Grant and Maddie; and a great-great granddaughter, Eleanor. She is also survived by her siblings, Arvena, John, Lola, and Roberta. She will be missed by her beloved nephews, nieces, and extended family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by Cleo M. Liddle Kelly; a son, Jonathan Paul Liddle; and two infant sons, William Henry Liddle and David Liddle; and siblings, Joyce, Elery, Pat, Bob, Tom, and Althea.
Funeral services will be held at the Clearfield Alliance Church on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 3 PM with Pastor Jim Evilsizor officiating.
Friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory on Sunday, May 31, 2026 from 1-6 PM & on Monday at the church from 2 - 3 PM.
Interment will follow in the Goshen Cemetery.
