Michael E. O'Donnell

Michael E. O'Donnell, 74, of Clearfield died on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

He was born on January 15, 1952 in Clearfield, a son of the late Thomas and Margaret (Litz) O'Donnell.

Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing poker. He was a former member of Knights of Columbus, Clearfield.

He is survived by his wife, Gail (Elensky) O'Donnell whom he wed April 7, 1993; a son, Jesse O'Donnell and wife Sarah of Hillsville VA; two daughters, Francine Shimchock of Clearfield, and Kathleen Hawkins and husband Bobby of Olanta; eight grandchildren, DJ, Gavin, Michael, Phoebe, Ashley, Lindsey, Heath, and Reed; two great-grandchildren, Kace and Kloe; a sister, Tina Kovalchick and husband John of Windsor, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Mass will be said by Fr. Robert Horgas at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 11:30 AM.

The Rosary will be said prior to the Mass at 11:10 AM.

Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or St. Francis Catholic Church, 212 S. Front St, Clearfield, PA 16830.
