Neil Ray Welker, 73, of Woodland (Shiloh), passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at his home, after a heroic fight with cancer.
Born February 8, 1948 in Philipsburg, he was a son of the late Darrel R. and Pauline J. (Green) Welker.
Neil graduated from Clearfield Area High School in 1965, and had attended Point Park College in Pittsburgh, majoring in Business Administration. He served in the Army Reserves for 4 years.
Neil was partner in Welker Trucking, Inc. with his father, then later was full owner. He maintained all aspects of the business, as well as driving truck.
Neil loved hunting and fishing, enjoying many trips to Canada and out west in his younger years. Later in life, he continued his love of the sport by taking annual trips with his sons to Wyoming.
Neil loved his sons and grandchildren very much.
He is survived by two sons, Neil R. Welker II and wife Cheryl of Woodland (Shiloh), and Tim Welker and wife Missy of Woodland (Shiloh); a brother, Allen Welker of Flagler Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Stephanie Leitzel and husband Carson, Jennifer Altemus and husband Ryan, Taylor Welker, and Ryan Welker; and three great-grandchildren, Madelynn, Kadey, and Gavin. In addition Neil leaves behind three beloved dogs who he lovingly called 'my boys'.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and a nephew, Allen Welker II.
In honor of Neil's wishes, there will be no public services observed.
