Paul C. Fontenoy, 84

of Fletcher Street, Clearfield died on Sunday, December 21, 2003 at Clearfield Hospital.

He was born on September 24, 1919 in Frenchville, a son of the late Fred and Amelia (Guenot) Fontenoy.

Mr. Fontenoy retired from Harbison Walker Refractories in 1982 after 40 years of service.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was a volunteer at the Mountain Laurel Nursing Home, a member of the Knights of Columbus Clearfield Council #409 and a member of the Leigey Renaud Post #8386 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Frenchville having served in the US Air Force during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Rougeux Fontenoy, whom he married August 8, 1942 in Frenchville

three daughters,
Donna Franz Erie
Barbara Poole and husband Richard Camp Hill
Suzanne Modlo and husband Mark Erie

six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter

and many nieces and nephews

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church on Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Frenchville VFW Post.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday 6-8 PM and Wednesday from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM.

A Christian Vigil Service will be said at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:45 PM

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 South Front Street, Clearfield PA 16830.
