Peter Zimmerman

Peter R. Zimmerman, Sr., 84, of Avon, OH and formerly of Clearfield, died on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at The Woods of French Creek in Avon, OH.
He was born on January 15, 1938 in Marietta, OH, a son of the late Albert L. and Edna M. (Rock) Zimmerman.
Mr. Zimmerman had been employed with American Airlines for many years, and then had worked at Harbison Walker Refractory as a plant manager until its closing. Mr. Zimmerman owned Wet Pet Center for five years. He went on to retire in 1999 as a furniture and appliance store manger after working in the industry for 8 years.
Mr. Zimmerman served with the U. S. Navy from 1957-1959. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Clearfield Lodge 540 and the Knights of Columbus in Clearfield. For enjoyment, Mr. Zimmerman enjoyed archery hunting, collecting stamps and was an avid coin collector.
He is survived by two children, Peter R. Zimmerman Jr. and wife Diana of Sheffield Lake, OH, and LeAnne M. Martell and husband Marvin of West Decatur; four grandchildren, Adrianne Boesken and husband James of Amherst, OH, Courtney Baughman and husband Tyler of Spring Mills, Britney Irwin and husband Alex of Sheffield Lake, OH, and Kyle Martell and fiancé Cassandra of Palestine, TX; two step grandchildren, Lee Martell and wife Dionne of Philipsburg, and Michael Martell and wife Joni of Georgetown, TX; and ten great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith D. (Folmer) Zimmerman in 2018.
Funeral services will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 4 PM with Pastor Bruce Stonebraker officiating. Interment will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
Military honors will be accorded at funeral home by the Clearfield Honor Guard.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 7460 Warren Pkwy, Suite 150, Frisco, TX 75034.
