Phyllis M. Hertlein, 75, of Clearfield died on Friday, October 22, 2010 at Clearfield Hospital.
She was born on January 15, 1935 in Pottersdale, a daughter of the late Norman and Inez (Heichel) Hertlein.
Ms. Hertlein retired in 2004 from Clearfield Hospital Home Health. Prior to that, she was employed at Clearfield Hospital in the emergency room from 1962 until 2000, serving as a head nurse. She also worked at the Maple Avenue Hospital in DuBois 1956 to 1962.
She was a 1955 graduate of the Clearfield Hospital School of Nursing. She was also the past president of the Professional Nursing Association.
Ms. Hertlein served in the US Air Force.
She is survived by a brother, Richard L. Hertlein and wife Pam of Clearfield and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, Gerald and Terry Hertlein and Myra Graham.
A memorial service will be held at the St. John Lutheran Church on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. David B. Letscher officiating.
Friends will be received at the church on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m.
Military honors will be accorded at the church by the members of the Clearfield Legion and VFW Post Honor Guards.
The Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield is in charge of arrangements.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. John Lutheran Church Twelve Baskets Campaign, 217 East Pine Street, Clearfield.
