Phyllis Westover

Phyllis Lynn Smith Westover entered into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, March 31, 2021.
She was the first born child of the late Charles Edgar Smith, and the late Margaret Fredina DeHaven Smith on March 7, 1951. She was born in the former Miners’ Hospital, in Spangler PA.
Phyllis grew up In Lawrence County PA. She graduated in 1969 from Mohawk Area High School, in North Beaver Twp. She earned a diploma in nursing as an RN in 1972 from the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing,
Phyllis’ desire was to serve the Lord in Christian Ministry. She attended Toccoa Falls College, Toccoa Falls Georgia and earned a BS from the School of Christian Ministries in 1974. It was while attending the college that Phyllis met the love of her life, Hiram B. Westover. They were married on July 21, 1973 and have served together in pastoral ministry for the past 46 years. During those years, she also served in National and District positions of Alliance Women - whose primary objective was to provide prayer and support for Alliance missionaries.
Two children were born to Hiram and Phyllis - Jennifer Lynn Westover and husband Chris and Stephen Douglas Westover and wife Whitney . They all survive, as do seven grandchildren.
Phyllis was predeceased by her brother, James Charles Smith on September 23, 2013. She is survived by her sister, Sharon Lee Thompson.
Phyllis worked for Penn Highlands Clearfield as a Hospice Nurse. She fulfilled her goal by obtaining Certification as a Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse. She felt that the Lord had prepared her to work in that field, and found satisfaction helping patients and families prepare for the end of life.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Clearfield Alliance Church on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 2 PM.
Friends will be received at the church on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 12:30PM - 2 PM.
It is requested that those attending wear masks.
