Randy Irvin Cleaver

Randy Irvin Cleaver, 66, passed away on February 3, 2026, at Chelsea Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, Goochland, VA.

He was born February 6, 1959, the son of Irvin S. and Sara (Bloom) Cleaver.

Randy graduated from Indiana University then worked as a park ranger for the national park service where he shared his vast knowledge of the civil war with thousands of visitors at the battlefields throughout his career. He was always reading and researching the civil war.

He served with the US Army attaining the rank of captain.

He is survived by a brother, Dave Cleaver and wife Deann of Louisa, VA; nephew, Jesse and his wife Jessica and their three children Cole, Ava and Ty; and niece, Heidi Cleaver of Louisa, Va.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in the Chesnut Grove Cemetery, Grampian.

Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting with the arrangements.
