Richard M. 'Dick' Lenhart, 86, of Clearfield passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the Penn Highlands Clearfield.
He was born on September 11, 1935 in Lecontes Mills, a son of the late Homer and Velma (Luzier) Lenhart.
Mr. Lenhart started out his career in building while working for Beish Construction, then later took his trade and started his own company, RM Lenhart Construction. He built many houses in Clearfield, Treasure Lake, Indiana, and the surrounding areas. He was also a partner in Rich-Mar Homes of Indiana.
When Dick wasn't working, he loved to play golf. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed building furniture in his workshop, which furnished his house and many others.
He was a member of West Side Church of Christ, which was started by his brother, Arthur; a lifelong member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #540; and a charter member of the Clearfield Jaycees, and Clearfield Builder's Association where he served as President in 1973. Dick was also a former member of the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge #314, Clearfield; the Coudersport Consistory; the Clearfield SOI; and the Clearfield Curwensville Country Club.
Mr. Lenhart is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mona (McBride Ardary) Lenhart whom he wed June 11, 1955; a daughter, Trudy Nyden and husband Michael of Fairhope, AL; a son, Richard Scott Lenhart of Bellefonte; three grandchildren, Katherine Nyden of Sacramento, CA, Chyna Lenhart, and Jin Lenhart, both of Austin, TX; a brother, Arthur Lenhart of Lancaster; a sister, Arlean Childs of Arkansas; his best friend and brother-in-law, Donald Ardary and wife Dallis; close family friend, Mark Thompson; care giver and friend, Traci Moore; and his beloved four legged friend, his cat, Tommy.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings, Eleanor Rowles, Homer 'Sonny' Lenhart, Paul Lenhart, Jean Miller, Larue Aughenbaugh, James Lenhart, Lester Lenhart, Mary Ellen Waid, and Russell Lenhart.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the West Side Church of Christ on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 1 PM.
Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield is in charge of the arrangements.
