Rose Baumgardner

September 5, 1933 — June 25, 2025

Our beloved mother and nana, Rose Marie Baumgardner, passed away on June 25th, 2025, at the home of her daughter in Clearfield Pa. She was 91. Rose was surrounded by family and friends in the final weeks of her life. Her last days were filled with loving care, stories of how she impacted everyone she met and how much she was loved.

Rose was born on September 5th, 1933, in Lewistown Pa, to Frank David Minsker, Sr. and Alma Mae (Galbraith) Minsker. On March 3rd, 1952, Rose married her soulmate, Gary, who preceded her in death on February 25th, 2024. Rose and Gary shared almost 72 years filled with raising a family and creating memories that their children will fondly carry with them. After Gary’s retirement they traveled to destinations they always wanted to see, and eventually living in some of those destinations. Rose was the heart of our home and family. She raised four children, Mark (Joseph) Baumgardner, Bradley (Lynnanne) Baumgardner, Joy (Gregg) Baumgardner Swatsworth and Beth (Kenneth) Baumgardner Bloom, in a happy and loving home to be independent and thoughtful adults. As a nana to Kurt, Joy Lynn, Kara, Amanda, Charles, Hannah, and Gracee, Rose spent a significant amount of quality time with each of her grandchildren, who will forever remember her with love and laughter. Rose is also survived by a brother, Barry Minsker of Delaware, seven great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews who will also miss her dearly.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Francis “Fran” Schminky, H. Joy Goss and Frank “Sonny” Minsker.

Rose’s family would like to thank the staff of Penn Highlands, Clearfield campus for their incredible care and kindness that she received in the last few months of her life. They would also like to thank Penn Highlands Hospice for the compassionate support and care they gave to not only Rose, but to her family during an emotional but beautiful time.

Rose was known for her love of hummingbirds, her humor, kindness, and generosity. She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be dearly missed. At Rose's request, there will be no services, but before she passed away, she made it known she wanted everyone to celebrate her journey home with happiness and not sadness. She looked forward to reuniting with Jesus, Gary, her departed family and friends.
