Rosella A. (Danver) Duttry, 93, of Clearfield died peacefully at her home Friday June 22, 2018.
Born in Clearfield on July 28, 1924, she was the daughter of Lewis and Catherine (Rafferty) Danver. On June 29, 1946 in the St. Francis Catholic Church, she married Dwight Duttry who preceded her in death on June 2, 1994.
Rosie was a lifelong active member of St. Francis Church. She graduated from St. Francis School in 1941, was a member of the Rosary and Altar Society, the Blue Army prayer group, volunteered in St. Francis School cafeteria for twenty years, and was one of the church cleaning volunteers for decades.
She is survived by six children: Daniel Duttry and wife Marlene of DuBois, Martha Bloom and husband Roger of Clearfield, Jane Johns and husband Tim of Bristolville OH, Eileen Sponaugle and husband Scott of Cortland OH, Martin Duttry of Canton MA and Lew Duttry and wife Susan of Clearfield. She is also survived by five grandchildren and two great-granddaughters: Kristin Duttry of Clearfield, Jana (Duttry) Davidson husband Jim and their two daughters Lauren and Lily of Clearfield, Levi Bloom of State College, Brendan Duttry of Boston MA, and Caitlin Duttry of Hull MA.
Rosie is survived by her sister Ruth Ann (Danver) McCracken and her husband Cliff of Clearfield, as well as her sister-in-law Fay (Duttry) Winters and her husband Bill of Kylertown. She was preceded in death by her sisters Jane Coons and husband Bob, Helen Taylor and husband Elry, Lois Danver, Alice Danver; and two brothers Frank Danver and James (Bump) Danver and wife Amy.
Known as Rosella, Rosie, Mom, Aunt Rosie and Grandma Rose, she had great love and caring for all of God’s children and creatures. She especially loved her family and friends, and will be missed by many.
Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Thursday at 10 AM with Msgr. Henry L. Krebs as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday from 2 PM - 4 PM and 6 PM - 8 PM and on Thursday and from 9 AM - 9:30 AM.
At the funeral home on Wednesday, a Christian Vigil service will be held at 1:45 PM and the Rosary will be recited at 5:45 PM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 South Front Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
