Russell L. 'Pete' Kifer Sr., 89, of Curwensville died on Monday, January 31, 2022 at his home.
He was born on May 27, 1932 in Hallton, a son of the late Arthur and Dorothy (Quick) Kifer.
Mr. Kifer was a welder by trade in the steel fabrication business. He had worked with for his family business, A.W. Kifer Inc. of Bigler. He also had been employed by the Iron Workers Local #772 of Clearfield, NARCO of Curwensville, R.L. Marker of Lewistown, Highland Steel of St. Marys, Miller Welding of Brookville, and Reichdrill LLC of Philipsburg. In his spare time, he loved to fish, and enjoyed hunting and trap shooting.
He was affiliated with Glad Tidings Assembly of God, Clearfield.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dolores (Rowles) Kifer whom he wed July 19, 1951; five children, Sharon Caldwell of Woodland, Michael Kifer of Philipsburg, Carla Verelli and husband David of Curwensville, Arthur Kifer and wife Markay of Clearfield, and Russell Kifer Jr. and wife Patti of West Decatur; twelve grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; and a sister, Viola McMurray.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Russell William Kifer; and two great grandchildren, Karleigh Caldwell and Logan Lupton.
Funeral services will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Wednesday at 1 PM with Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 AM - 1 PM.
