Ruth E. Winters, 71, of Clearfield died on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at her residence.
She was born on September 4, 1940 in Washington, DC, a daughter of the late Ernest and Dorothy (Rest) Barefoot.
Ruth was a homemaker and drove school bus for Fullington Bus Co. for many years.
Ruth loved to gamble, whether it be playing bingo locally or traveling to the casino's to play the slot machines.
She is survived by her husband, Greg E. Winters, whom she wed July 6, 1991 at their home; seven children,
Ernest Ricketts and wife Lisa of Clearfield, David Ricketts and wife Corrina of WV, James Ricketts and wife Laurie of WV, Michael Ricketts of Clearfield, Jason Norris and wife Heather of Clearfield, Becky Winters of Waynesboro and Gregory Winters, Jr. of Irwin; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Chloee Norris, Jason Norris, Jr., and Jacob Shaffer; and a brother Robert Barefoot.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday at11 AM with Pastor Kevin S. Bockus officiating. Interment will be in the Centre Cemetery, Hyde.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Tuesday from 10-11 AM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 26 S. Second Street, Clearfield or to DRMC-Hospice, PO Box 447, DuBois, PA 15801.
