Samuel Lee McGhee Jr., 83, of Clearfield, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on August 8th, 2026

Born to Samuel Lee McGhee Sr. and Sally Bailey McGhee. Sam proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. In his younger years, he owned and operated a television repair shop before later working for Fulesday Machine Company. Following brain surgery in 1980, he became medically disabled.

Sam was happiest when he was connecting with people. Whether talking on his amateur (ham) radio, attending club meetings, spending the day at car shows, or simply sharing stories, he enjoyed the friendships those interests brought into his life. He also loved collecting unique treasures, model trains, and anything that sparked his curiosity.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Lee McGhee Sr. and Sally Bailey McGhee, and his brother, Robert McGhee.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Jacqueline (Condon) McGhee; his son, Steven McGhee and his wife, Tina, and their children, Sydney, Victoria, and Sean; his daughter, Crystal (McGhee) Blochberger, and her husband, Tim Blochberger Jr., and their children, Candace, Emily, and Marcus; his sister, Jenny Hoover of Scott Depot, WV; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

The family is especially grateful for the unwavering love and devotion shown by his wife, Jacqueline, whose steadfast care and commitment carried them through every season of life.

Sam was always willing to lend a hand. He enjoyed working with his hands, solving problems, and helping others whenever he could. To his daughter, Crystal, he was more than a father-he was her rock. Whether offering advice, helping with a project, or simply showing up when she needed him, he would do everything he could to help. She always knew she could count on her dad.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 22nd at River’s Landing Event Center, 139 West Market Street, Suite 200. Clearfield, PA 16830. Located directly above The Dented Keg.

Family and friends are welcome to stop in anytime between 12:00 and 3:00 p.m. Please come when you’re able, stay as long as you’d like, share a memory, and help us celebrate Dad’s life. Light refreshments and a grazing table will be available.
