Sara E. Zeigler

Sara Zeigler, 86, of Clearfield passed away Friday October 10, 2025 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.

Sara was born on September 30, 1939, she was the daughter of Willard and Luella (Dixon) Maines. She was fondly

known as Sal or Sally by her father. She worked for many years at the former Superior Pet and most recently in home health. She enjoyed painting, gardening, and spending time with her family and her beloved canine companion, Sassy.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Donna Sones, ( Randy), Laurie Zortman ( Chuck Johnston), and Dawnell Rosier, ( Jerone). Two sons, Aaron Zeigler, and Bradley Zeigler, ( Christine). Sisters Mary Harmon, Ethel Lipson, Wanita Nixon, Linda Kirk, Debbie Wilt and one brother Lewis (Squeak) Maines. Grandchildren Leigh Ann Sones (Daniel Brodman), Stephanie, Linea, and Jimmy (Zeigler), and Kelsy, Rafael, Jeremy, Nathan, and Jayden (Rosier). Several great grandchildren, and many special nieces & nephews and a special family member, Sharon Anderson.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, first husband, Gene Zortman in 1962 and her 2nd husband Howard Zeigler in 2008. One daughter, Karen Zortman Heichel in 2007 and one grandson, Matt Sones in 2025. 3 sisters, Shirley Bock, Barbara Kopp, Annamae Ziegler, and 2 brothers, Willard (Butch) Maines, (Joan) and Robert (Buzz) Maines, (Eva).

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
