Sylvia Ann (Kuna) (Mallon) Marshall passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 26, 2026.
Born to Joseph "Bud" and Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Kuna on November 11, 1948 in Clearfield, PA, who both preceded her in death, Sylvia married her first true love, Charles A. "Chick" Mallon on April 11, 1970. Charles preceded her in death on February 13, 2002. Born to, and surviving them, are their three sons, Timothy J (Betsy) Mallon and sons, Zachary C. and Sean P. Mallon; Gregory S. (Jennifer) Mallon and son, Benjamin S and daughter, Chloe E Mallon; and Matthew 'Mo' C. Mallon and daughters, Jordan E. and Jeri L. Mallon and Jeri's son, Grayson Lansberry.
Sylvia was then blessed to meet her final true love, Charles "Patch" E. Marshall, whom she wed on June 26, 2010 and who proceeded her in death on January 17, 2021. With her marriage to Patch, she also gained additional step-children and grandchildren whom she loved as her own.
She also wished to thank her special cousins, Sue and Dan Shadeck, as well as Kathy (Spears) Kreckel who called her on a weekly basis. She also held a special place in her heart for Anthony Sorbera who acted as a foster father to her and foster grandparent to Tim, Greg, and Matt. Finally, she would like thank Paul Yatta and Fr. Dennis Hadberg for their friendship through her years.
Sylvia had many friends and family members that she enjoyed hosting at her beloved "camp" at Treasure Lake. She additionally participated in may organizations in the community including the Red Hat Club, the St. Francis Rosary and Altar Society, and was a devout member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Sylvia was also a Cub Scout leader in the Clearfield area and was recognized by the Erie Diocese Catholic Committee on Scouting as a recipient of the Bronze Pelican Award. She was also a member of the NON Club.
Sylvia graduated from Clearfield High School in 1966 and then worked as an Administrator at the Department of Public Welfare for 38 years until her retirement in 2007.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 9 AM with Fr. Robert Horgas as celebrant.
Friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory on Friday, May 29, 2026 from 4-7 PM.
Interment will be in the Historic Crown Crest Cemetery.
