Timothy G. Hart, 67, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA with his wife and dear friends at his side.
Born on March 14, 1959, in DuBois, PA, he was the son of George and Esther Ray (Hughes) Hart.
On October 11, 2012, he wed his lifelong friend and love of his life, Elaine (Anderson) Hart, who he escorted to their Senior Prom in 1977 and found again 30 years later. Their nuptials were shared on the beach in The Outer Banks, NC.
Sisters Carole Eby of DuBois, Michelle Waroquier and Allison Hart of Clearfield survive. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins and his precious dog Lily.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, George Michael Hart.
Tim began his working career in 1978 with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in the Motor Carrier Enforcement Department. This position was eventually transferred to the Pennsylvania State Police where he became Supervisor, having achieved the highest level of seniority in the department’s history. He retired in 2013 after 35 years of dedicated service.
Tim possessed a magnanimous personality. His presence was tangible and he was respected and loved by many. When in his company you knew you were in for an enjoyable experience. Tim entertained with his unique sense of humor and classic idioms. He could converse on a wealth of topics, and his point of view was knowledgeable, respected, and while standing firmly by his beliefs, at times debatable. In keeping with his charismatic character, he truly took an interest to genuinely listen and thoughtfully reply when in conversations. Tim was an avid sports fan and faithfully followed Penn State Nittany Lions Football, the Dallas Cowboys, the Pittsburgh Pirates and the PGA. In 1976 Tim was instrumental in establishing the Best of Friends Golf Tournament with his brother Mike and friend Larry Moyer. Now in its 50th year the tournament continues to be a popular annual event.
At Tim’s request there will be no funeral service, but rather a celebration of his life at a date to be announced.
