Vinnie E. Wise, 102
of Park Ave Extension, Curwensville died on Friday, August 15, 2003 at her residence.
She was born on September 23, 1900 in Hepburnia, a daughter of the late Charles L. and Amelia (Guiher) Spencer.
Mrs. Wise was a homemaker and a member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church. For 35 years she was in charge of the canned goods department at the Clearfield County Fair.
She is survived by three children,
Helen Bloom and her husband Galen Curwensville
Robert Wise and wife Betty Curwensville
William Wise and wife Barbara Ansonville
14 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren,
a brother,
Ronald E. Spencer DuBois
and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Wise on March 14, 1979 and whom she wed March 18, 1919 in Curwensville. Also by her sons Francis and James Wise, 2 grandchildren, four sisters, Lucy Spencer, Myrtle Rafferty, Alice P. Johnson and an infant sister, Jeanne Spencer and six brothers, Lester, Harrison, Orvis, John, Charles and Alton Spencer.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Monday at
2:00 P.M. with Rev. Arlene P. Beechert and Rev. Stephen B. Shields officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 7-9:00 PM and Sunday from 2-9:00 PM
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of ones choice.
