Ward L. Fink, 79, of Clearfield died on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
He was born on August 16, 1940 in Clearfield, a son of the late Ward and Edith (Mellotte) Fink.
Ward will be remembered for his constant smile. He was involved in the Easter Seal organization and was awarded their Gallantry Award in 1969. He was also a member of the Red and Black Club and the Clearfield Area Jaycees. Ward was a one-time local champion checker player, an honorary football coach at Clearfield and manager and Little League umpire in Clearfield. Ward was a member and long time officer of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks #540, Clearfield and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812, Clearfield. He was a member of the Third Ward Fire Department and the Lawrence Township Fire Department.
He is survived by two brothers, Stan Fink and wife Nancy of Clearfield, and Jeff Fink and wife Linda) of Clearfield; and a sister, Karen Fox and husband Rhudy of Marienville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Rex and Marvin Fink.
A memorial service will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield on Tuesday at 11 AM with Rev. Robert Way officiating. Burial will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park
Friends will be received at Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Monday from 4-7 PM and at the church on Tuesday from 10-11 AM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, 301 North Second Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
