Wilbur Barger

Wilbur G. Barger, 75, passed away on July 27, 2025, at his home.

He was born October 31, 1949, the son of Charles Barger and Levoy Lytle.

Wilbur was a longtime member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church where he was part of the Worship Team, Choir, and served as a Sunday School Teacher and Royal Ranger Commander.

Wilbur worked at Harbison Walker Refractories Company and then later retired from Glen Gery Brick. Upon retirement he did maintenance at the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church. In his free time, he was an avid woodworker. He also loved music and playing the keyboard. Wilbur enjoyed baking with his granddaughter, Mackayla. He was also a huge Penn State Football fan.

He is survived by his spouse, Karen Barger whom he wed September 15, 1973 at Lake Street United Methodist Church; a son, Robert Barger and wife Terra; grandchildren, Nathaniel Condon, and Mackayla Barger; two step-grandchildren, Savannah Shannon and Sierra Shannon; a great-granddaughter, Lily Condon; a brother, Charles Barger and wife Dottie; and a sister, Michele MacCormick.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Peter Barger; and a brother, Arnold Barger.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM on Monday, August 18, 2025 at the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church with Pastor Samuel Smeal. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 AM - 11 AM.

Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
