William H. 'Sonny' Cutler, 89, of Clearfield died on Monday, September 27, 2021 at the Penn Highlands Clearfield.
He was born on August 13, 1932 in Clearfield, a son of the late William Cutler and Pearl (Brown) Cutler Smith.
Sonny was a carpenter by trade and a very skilled woodworker. He did carpentry at Reed Brothers for many years, and later retired from the Clearfield Area School District as a maintenance man.Sonny had a true passion for gardening and took pride in taking care of his garden. He enjoyed walking on the Rails to Trails with his wife, Christine, where they spent many hours together. He also loved his animals and liked to feed the ducks at the river.
Mr. Cutler served with the U. S. Army during the Korean War and was a proud veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Christine (Coulter) Cutler of Clearfield; three sisters, Deloris Freeman and husband Brady of Enola, Joyce Ogden of Clearfield and Linda Rinehart of Philipsburg; four brothers-in-law, Merrill Coulter and wife Becky, Burton Coulter, Albert Coulter and wife Anne, and Leonard Coulter and wife Jackie; a sister-in-law, Gloria Cutler; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and a very special cat, Lucky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James R. Cutler and Richard K. Cutler; brother-in-law, Ronald Ogden; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Cutler and Susan Coulter.
Funeral services will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 1 PM with Rev. Robert Achey officiating. Interment will follow in the Styers Cemetery, Clearfield.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 10 AM - 1 PM.
