Obituary for Gerald L. Hoke Sr.

Gerald L.  Hoke Sr.
Gerald L. Hoke Sr., 71, of Clearfield died on Monday, August 11, 2014 at the Valley View Nursing Home, Altoona.

He was born on November 23, 1942 in Clearfield, a son of the late Alvie Hoke and Leona (Williams) Charles.

Mr. Hoke worked in the coal mines all of his life. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812, Clearfield, Mosquito Creek Sportsman's Club and the Clearfield Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 97.

He is survived by two children, Carrie 'Susan' Lemasters and her husband James of Valencia and Gerald Hoke Jr. of Clearfield; three grandchildren, Jodi Hoke and Allison and Alexander Lemasters; two great granddaughters; two sisters, Emma Lanich of Bigler and Corrine Charles of DuBois; and a friend Mary Jane 'Jean' Coudriet of Clearfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother William Charles.

A memorial service will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at 11 AM with Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating. Interment will be in the Stoneville Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10-11 AM.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice.
