Obituary for Victor E. Plubell

Victor E.  Plubell
Victor E. Plubell, 93, of Frenchville died on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
He was born on October 16, 1921 in Frenchville, a son of the late Edmund and Emma (Hugney) Plubell.

Mr. Plubell and his brother, Willard, founded Quehanna Hardwoods, Inc. in 1949, providing needed employment opportunities to numerous Clearfield County residents for over 50 years. Over that period, the business remained committed to the growth and development of the region and its citizens.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Frenchville and a life member of the Leigey Renaud Post #8386 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Frenchville.
A veteran of World War II, Mr. Plubell proudly served with the U. S. Navy assuring fresh water deliveries to the allied forces in the Pacific Theater.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene J. (Rauch) Plubell whom he wed June 20, 1953 in Frenchville; three children, Donna Swatsworth and husband Mark of Indiana, Ronald Plubell and wife Mary of Frenchville and Joseph Plubell and wife Maria of KS; five grandchildren, Melissa, Christina and Jessica Plubell and Jason and Matthew Swatsworth; a great grandson, Caleb Wirth; and a sister, Josephine Folmar of Hyde.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffrey P. Plubell; and three brothers, Wilfred 'Windy', Eugene and Willard Plubell

Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Mary Catholic Church, Frenchville on Saturday at 11 AM with Father Philip Billotte as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Frenchville. Military honors will be accorded by the Frenchville Leigey Renaud Post #8386 Honor Guard.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM.

A Christian Vigil service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 5:45 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, PO Box 159, Frenchville or to the American Cancer Society, 26 S. Second Street, Clearfield.
