Charles E. "Chuck"  Peters
Charles E. 'Chuck' Peters, 92, of Clearfield died on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Penn Highlands Clearfield.

He was born on February 23, 1923 in Clover Hill, a son of the late Charles Edgar and Alma (Johns) Peters.

Mr. Peters had been employed many places including various area coal mines, being an instrument repairman at Westinghouse in Sharon, PA, driving over-the-road tractor trailer for Daily Express, and most recently, delivering food through the Meals on Wheels program where he enjoyed meeting people. In his spare time, he repaired any kind of electronic, even building his first TV in 1947. He also had restored VW beetles and making home movies for family.

Mr. Peters attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Clearfield.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth M. (Hedglin) Peters whom he wed September 20, 1941; five children, Charles Peters, Jr. and wife Bonnie of Clearfield, Daniel Peters of Hubbard, OH, Linda Pilch and husband Joseph of Brockway, Larry Peters of Clearfield, and Rita Hemphill and husband George of St. Cloud, FL; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren; three sisters and a brother.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Gill; four grandchildren and one great grandson; one sister and four brothers.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM & Saturday from 10-11 AM.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at 11:00 am with Rev. Robert B. Goldenberg officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield.

Because of Chuck's love of animals and the joy he had meeting the people through Meals on Wheels delivery, the family strongly asks that donations be sent to either the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 275 21st Street, Clearfield or to the Meals on Wheels Program, c/o CCAAA, PO Box 550, Clearfield.
