Obituary for Martha D. Lynch (Fortune)
Martha D. Lynch, 81, of Clearfield died on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
She was born on May 4, 1935 in Black Mountain, NC, a daughter of the late Fred and Ruth (Lytle) Fortune.
Mrs. Lynch was employed by The Progress for 46 years as the Classified Advertisement Manager.
She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Clearfield as well as the United Methodist Women's Club. Mrs. Lynch also held memberships with the Clearfield Business and Professional Women's Club, Clearfield Welfare Board, Salvation Army Board and the Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre Board. She also served on the Clearfield Area Agency on Aging Auction Committee and a volunteer and board member for the American Cancer Society. In addition, she was a past member of the Clearfield Hospital Board of Directors and past chairman of Nurse of Hope.
She is survived by her husband, D. Paul Lynch whom she wed January 15, 1966 in Clearfield; two sons, Donny Lynch of State College and Dan Lynch and wife Phyllis of Clearfield; and eight grandchildren, Karah Smith and husband Andrew, Ryan, Jaidon, Emily, Taye and Kai Lynch and Christopher and Nicholas Osborn.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday at 11 AM with Rev. Mark Brower officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 PM and on Thursday from 10-11 AM.
