Obituary for Margaret D. "Margy" Lanich (Dietzel)

Margaret D. "Margy"  Lanich (Dietzel)
Margaret D. 'Margy' Lanich, 77, of Clearfield died on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

She was born on September 13, 1936 in DuBois, a daughter of the late George and Jane (Sinclair) Dietzel.

Mrs. Lanich retired as a library aide from the Clearfield Area School District after more than 30 years of employment.
She was a member of The Presbyterian Church of Clearfield where she had served as a Deacon, Trustee and Elder. Mrs. Lanich was also a member of the Deborah Circle and several Sunday School classes at the church. She was a past president of the Presbyterian Women's Association and a member of the NON group of Clearfield as well as the Junior Women's Club, Clearfield.

She is survived by three children, Alison LaFrance and husband Joseph of Manheim, David Lanich and wife Rose of Clearfield and Martin Lanich and wife Jill of Sharpsville; two grandchildren Madeline LaFrance and Jacob Lanich; and two brothers, James Dietzel and wife Carol of Potomac, MD and Paul Dietzel of Clearfield.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin R. 'Skip' Lanich on September 13, 2011 and whom she wed February 13, 1960; and a brother, G. Richard Dietzel.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday at 11 AM with Rev. J. Robert Mellgard and Mr. Richard Barkley officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 PM and on Tuesday from 10-11 AM .

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to The Presbyterian Church of Clearfield, 119 N. Second Street, Clearfield.
