Obituary for Stephen Merle Keiser

Stephen Merle Keiser
Stephen Merle Keiser, 67, of Curwensville died on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at UPMC Altoona.

He was born on July 7, 1947 in Bryn Mawr, a son Betty Lou (Weber) Keiser of Curwensville and the late Clarence Keiser Jr.

Stephen graduated from Curwensville High School in 1965 and proceeded to graduate from college in California where he earned his teaching credentials. He then taught school for many years in California, including at the Hook Junior High in Victorville, CA. During his teaching career, he assisted in coaching wrestling and golf and was always helping at risk adolescents. Throughout his teaching career, Stephen made many positive impacts on peoples lives. While living in California, he also worked many years in the roofing business and enjoyed the outdoors. He also had a special love for animals. Stephen proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force. Above all else, Stephen 'marched to the beat of his own drum and lived life exactly the way he wanted.'

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister, Jill Deluccia and husband Tim of Grampian; his brother, Jeffrey Keiser of Grampian; three aunts and numerous cousins; and many close friends in California. He will also be sadly missed by his dog, Josie!

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lory Ann Stone.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Thursday. Interment will be in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Grampian.

Military honors will be accorded at funeral home by the members of the Clearfield VFW and American Legion Honor Guards.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 AM - 1 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Heart Association, 501 Howard Avenue, Suite D, Altoona, PA 16601 or to your local animal shelter in Stephen's memory.
